Propagation Area

The Propagation area is located at one end of the garden pathway at the intersection of Barnes and Bruner Avenues.  Bissel currently operates 2 – 24x 20 hothouses.  Monthly volunteer clean up and propagation events are scheduled throughout the Summer and Fall.   Garden members, friends of the gardens and NY Cares volunteers rigorously clear, weed-wack and organize the area.  We are planning for solar power in 2012.  In the early Spring, we cultivate the starter plants and trees (all indigenous) and prepare  for two Spring Butterfly Giveaway events scheduled in May and in June.  Volunteers are always welcome to join these events.  The next Propagation Area event is scheduled on October 22nd from 8:00a – noon.
